Another one bites the dust

I have really bad luck with cameras :(
It all started with a beautiful Sony T1 in 2005, the first of it's series. Just before my trip to India it's screen stopped functioning and it had to be replaced. Luckily it was under warranty so there were no additional costs, but I couldn't take it with me. Then in 2007 I took it on my latin-american adventure.

It survived heights and the bitter cold of the Cotopaxi volcano in Ecuador and 3 robberies but the humidity in Costa Rica was too much. I was trying to resurrect it for almost 2 months but the local service-shop (Sony authorized!) just kept stringing me along and I ended up paying 40$ for nothing.

My second camera came a few weeks later, when I was in Panama. It worked perfectly until I came back home, put it in my jacket pocket and then sat on it. The screen was broken and too expensive to fix. It didn't last even 5 min on European soil :(

Then, being unemployed there was no replacement for a while but I finally got another Sony camera. It survived for exactly 7 months, during which it witnessed my bear adventure in Croatia, the beginning of the Master in France and a few weeks in Ecuador. But... on my last day in Ecuador it fell into a stream and just decided not to work any more.

A few weeks later I decided that I can't be on this Master without a camera, going to all these cool places so I bought another one! It was really nice, I loved it's abilities and was having fun with it. Then I decided to go to Madrid for a week; what a mistake. Somehow the camera found it's way out of my backpack (I probably let it slip out somehow)... and approximately 1gb of photos with it :(

And some Portugal too, camera No4

What do I do now? 4 cameras have either died on me or got lost in space in the last 2 years; I'm beginning to think I'm camera coursed! And buying a new one is definitely not in my budget now. I remained faithful to Sony all this time and I really think that they should sponsor me in the future :)

Sony, are you there?

Ricardo's pearls

Ricardo - the crazy Mexican

Today Ricardo wrote on my CouchSurfing profile:
I really like Maja way of leaving, I think that she is a really mature
person, therefore she is very patient and is easy going...
so he likes me only when I'm leaving :)

But these kinds of mistakes are so common for Ricardo, for Aida's profile he wrote:
Aida is a really fun person! She is sometimes kind of extrange...
Extreme? Strange? Or a little bit of both :)

Or one morning talking about the amount of food for breakfast I heard him say : "This is only the bikini!" (he actually said "This is only the beginning!") and then continuing with "There will be more". My first thought was: "Topless?!?"

Another one is :"Can I taste your baby?"
-My what?!?
-Your baby! What you're cooking...
-I'm making veggies, not babies!

There's definitely something to be said for his B's and V's :)

I may not have gone where I wanted to go, but I'm sure I ended up where I needed to be.
